8 Days – Istanbul and Cappadocia

Day 1 – AIRPORT OF ORIGIN – ISTANBUL

Departure according to flight plan.
Arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation.

Day 2 – ISTANBUL

Breakfast. Departure to visit the Rustem Pasha Mosque, famous for its large number of tiles of different geographical shapes and decorated with floral motifs.
Continuation to the pier to take a boat ride on the Bosphorus, a canal that separates Europe and Asia. During the tour we will be able to see the palaces of the ancient sultans.
We will end the visit in the Spice Bazaar (also known as the Egyptian Bazaar), the second largest covered bazaar in Istanbul. Rest of the day free at your disposal.

Day 3 – ISTANBUL

Optional: Possibility of taking an optional full-day excursion to the Jewels of Constantinople with lunch included. Visit of the old Hippodrome that belongs to the Byzantine era, which was the center of civil activity in the country and where not only horse races and gladiatorial combats were held, but also celebrations in honor of the Emperor. Today it preserves the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column and the Fountain of Emperor William. The Blue Mosque from outside (the guide will give the explanation outside the mosque and you, at your free time, can enter to visit it quietly). It was built in 1609 during the Sultanate of Ahmet, who, wanting to surpass Hagia Sophia with his mosque, built it with 6 minarets. Next we will go to Topkapi Palace, residence of the sultans until the 19th century, where most of the valuable objects of the Ottoman sultans are found. Visit of Hagia Sophia, the most complete example of Byzantine art and one of the greatest achievements of humanity. Next, transfer to visit the Grand Bazaar, which, built in 1660, can be considered a small city covered by hundreds of domes, with about four thousand shops inside with alleys, squares and 18 access doors. End of visit to the Grand Bazaar.

Day 4 – ISTANBUL – ANKARA – CAPPADOCIA (733 Km.)

Breakfast. At the scheduled time, departure by road to Ankara crossing the Bolu mountains. Stop in Ankara to visit Atatürk's mausoleum, a symbol of Turkish culture. The mausoleum, made of a 40-ton block of marble, was inaugurated in 1953 and was built to honor the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey. The building draws attention because it was built in a central location that allowed it to be seen from any part of Ankara and because its ceilings are decorated with carpets.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Continuation to Cappadocia where on the way we will discover a of the most brilliant jewels of Turkey, the salt pans of Tuz Gölü (the salt lake), which with its 48 km long and 80 km wide hypnotizes us with its whiteness.
Arrival at the hotel in Cappadocia. Dinner and accommodation.

Optional:
Flight Istanbul/Cappadocia: You miss the visit to the Atatürk mausoleum, the views of the salt lake and lunch of the day.

Day 5 – CAPPADOCIA

Breakfast. Departure to visit the fascinating Cappadocia, a region with a unique landscape in the world. The area was formed by the lava thrown by the Erciyes and Hasan volcanoes 3 million years ago and in 1985 it was included by UNESCO on the list of World Heritage Sites, with a protected area of almost 10,000 hectares.
Visit of the open-air museum in the Göreme Valley, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex made up of churches excavated in the rock with beautiful frescoes.
We also visit the Avcilar Valley, from where we will have a spectacular panoramic view of the valley better known as “Chimneys of the fairies". Next will come the Guvercinlik Valley, better known as “Valley of the Pigeons” and the most famous in Cappadocia.
Lunch in a local restaurant and continuation of the tour visiting a craft workshop in the area, where you can buy carpets, onyx and turquoise.
Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Optional:
Turkish Night: Turkish folk dance show in a typical cave, with unlimited local drinks.
Hot air balloon: Balloon excursion at sunrise with transfers included. Subject to weather conditions.

Day 6 – CAPPADOCIA

Breakfast. Free day at your disposal.
Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Optional: Possibility of taking an optional full-day excursion to continue getting to know this fascinating region of lunar landscapes, formed over centuries by the lava of two nearby volcanoes. We will visit the Pasabagi or Çavusin Valley and then we will also visit the Uçhisar Valley where you can see the ancient fortress excavated in the rock at the highest point of Urgup, from where you have an impressive panoramic view of all the valleys in the area. . Lunch at a local restaurant. Next we go to the town of Avanos, famous for its pottery, where we can visit one of them. In the afternoon visit to an incredible underground city, Ozkonak or Kaymakli, used as a refuge by Christian communities to escape persecution. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 7 – CAPPADOCIA – ISTANBUL

Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Istanbul.
Arrival, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 8 – ISTANBUL – DESTINATION AIRPORT

Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take the return flight and end of our services.
